Laoshan Scenic Area Builds the Brand of "Meteorology + Cultural Tourism" and Promotes the Transformation of Meteorological Resources into Beautiful Landscapes

On July 31, the China Meteorological Service Association, Qingdao Meteorological Bureau and Qingdao Laoshan Scenic Area Administration signed a tripartite strategic cooperation agreement at the Laoshan Cultural Exhibition Center to jointly promote the high-quality integration and development of "meteorology + cultural tourism".

Laoshan Mountain has magnificent mountain and sea scenery and the largest and best preserved ancient glacial relics in eastern China. The climate here is pleasant, the vegetation is dense, the forest coverage rate of state-owned forest land is 88.11%, and the instantaneous negative oxygen ion in the air can reach up to 42,000 per cubic centimeter. The meteorological and phenological landscapes change with the seasons throughout the year, such as starry sky and bright moon, sea of clouds and mist, sunrise and sunset, ice and snow rime, spring flowers and autumn leaves. It is a rich treasure house of meteorological resources and a summer resort for tourists to enjoy coolness in summer. The unique temperament and breathtaking meteorological scenery of the fairy mountain on the sea attract a large number of tourists from home and abroad to come and admire. The scenic spot has created a unique "meteorology + cultural tourism" brand of Laoshan Mountain, which has become a good choice for the meteorological research and travel camp of the China Meteorological Service Association, driving the continuous improvement of tourist satisfaction and repeat visit rate, and turning meteorological resources into beautiful scenery of the scenic spot. The scenic spot received 5.42 million tourists in 2023, a year-on-year increase of 60.4%; In the first half of 2024, 2.212 million tourists were received, a year-on-year increase of 8.2%.
