Chongqing will launch more than thousands cultural and tourism theme activities

The Chongqing Municipal Commission of Culture and Tourism recently announced the theme of "Happy New Year" for the 2024 Spring Festival cultural and tourism activities.

From January 18 to March 11, the local government will integrate the resources of the city's cultural tourism system, rely on its unique advantages, and launch 23 themed activities with more than 1,000 themes in seven sectors, including culture and art, public services, intangible cultural heritage protection, leisure consumption, winter tourism, and cultural and museum exhibitions. The government will give full play to the positive role of culture and tourism in meeting people's spiritual and cultural needs, promoting consumption, stimulating the economy, and creating a strong atmosphere of "Happy New Year".

Specifically, the "Cultural Spring Festival Arts for the People" section focuses on the field of culture and art, with more than 200 activities planned. The city will hold the second urban art festival, support offline performances and online broadcasts of municipal professional literary and art troupes, guide new performing arts spaces to strengthen the content supply of new formats, and fully demonstrate the spiritual outlook of Chongqing's vast number of literary and artistic workers through various art forms such as opera, drama, music and dance, art, and small musicals.

The "Spring to Wanjia" section focusing on mass culture will carry out more than 500 activities. Chongqing will guide the cultural tourism committees of each district and county to jointly launch a series of Spring Festival gala display projects with relevant new media platforms, promoting the Spring Festival gala from regional "small joy" to the whole city and even the whole country. At the same time, the "Enjoy New Year Pictures to Celebrate the New Year" activity, "The Spring Festival Memories" documentary photography exhibition, etc., will also showcase the local flavor, folk customs, and humanistic heritage of various places in Chongqing, and promote the Spring Festival culture.

The "tourism and leisure for the Spring Festival" section focuses on tourism and leisure, vacation and sightseeing, with more than 60 activities. Chongqing will coordinate with the cultural tourism committees and tourist attractions in each district and county to carry out a series of tourism promotion activities around the theme of "checking in on tourism and leisure, opening up a happy Spring Festival", including winter tourism, hot spring tourism, "my hometown has treasure", and new year customs for the Spring Festival.

In the section of "Celebrating the Spring Festival in the Cultural Exhibition Hall", more than 60 activities focus on cultural tourism exhibitions. Chongqing will coordinate cultural institutions, libraries, and intangible cultural heritage museums across the city to carry out a series of activities in museums and libraries, launching distinctive theme exhibitions, rich and colorful New Year customs experiences, and reading activities, expanding the space for cultural experience during the Spring Festival, creating a new cultural trend with Chongqing characteristics, and offering a cultural New Year gift to the public.
