Recently, the 2023 China Sports Tourism Excellent Project Awarding Ceremony was held. Xinjiang Silk Road International Resort won the title of "China's Top Ten Sports Tourism Excellent Scenic Spots".

The awarded sports tourism projects are divided into five categories: top-quality scenic spots, top-quality routes, top-quality events, top-quality destinations, and top-quality projects. Xinjiang Silk Road International Resort is also the only scenic spot in Xinjiang that has won the title of "China's Top-Quality Sports Tourism Scenic Spot" for three consecutive years.

The Xinjiang Silk Road International Resort, located in Pingxi Liang Village, Shuixigou Town, Urumqi County, is a national AAAA-level tourist attraction. It has numerous tourism elements such as forest, hot springs, ice and snow, and flower sea. It integrates skiing, accommodation, catering, hot springs, entertainment and leisure, and has formed a four-season tourist resort with the grand view of mountains in spring, the endless flower sea in summer, the Silk Road hot springs in autumn, and the ice and snow sports in winter.

It is worth mentioning that the snowfield area of Xinjiang Silk Road International Resort is one of the largest ski resorts in China, and it is the venue for the Alpine Skiing Competition of the 13th National Winter Games. The snowfield is certified by the International Ski Federation to host 8 international competitions, and it has the first place (Xuanzang Avenue), the second place (Aiwen Avenue), the fourth place (Very Avenue) and the most attractive snowfield (Happy Valley) and the most interesting snowfield (Mai Mai Avenue) in China's most challenging snowfields.

In addition to Xinjiang Silk Road International Resort, the Xinjiang Karajun International Ecological Tourism Zone and the China Xinjiang Lake Sarikamish Road Cycling Race were respectively awarded the titles of China Top Ten Sports Tourism Excellent Scenic Spots and China Top Ten Sports Tourism Excellent Events.
