On November 18, 2023 China-Laos Railway International Cultural Tourism Economic Belt Construction Seminar, which is implemented by Yunnan Tourism Planning Research Institute and Kunming Branch of China Tourism Academy, was held in Kunming, Yunnan Province.

This seminar aims to "promote the construction and development of China Laos railway with tourism" ˙ Happiness Road ˙ Themed on "Friendship Road", the event is hosted by the Organizing Committee of the China International Travel Mart 2023, jointly organized by the Bureau of International Exchanges and Cooperation of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, the Department of Culture and Tourism of Yunnan Province, and the China Railway Kunming Group Co., Ltd. The conference gathered more than 200 domestic and foreign experts and scholars in related fields, representatives of tourism cities, travel service providers and more than 20 domestic and foreign media representatives to discuss the development of China Laos railway cultural tourism and promote the construction of China Laos railway international cultural tourism economic belt with "railway+tourism".
