Recently, at the theme forum of "Protecting the Beauty of Nature · Promoting Green Development - Promoting the Construction of a high-quality Nature Protected Area System" of the 2023 Ecological Civilization Guiyang International Forum held in Guiyang, the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) awarded 13 natural protected areas in China, including Huangshan Scenic Area, which were selected in the "IUCN Green List". Yang Xinhu, member of the Party Working Committee and deputy director of the Management Committee of Huangshan Scenic Area, attended the meeting and received the IUCN Green List of the World's Best Natural Protected Areas medal on behalf of Huangshan Scenic Area.

Huangshan Scenic Area became an IUCN Green List protected area in 2014, and successfully passed the assessment of the Green List Global Committee in 2020. The Green List qualification needs to be reassessed every five years, and this is the second time that Huangshan has been included in the Green List since it was first included in 2014.
