Today, China has become, or will soon become, the world's largest country in terms of total highway mileage, car ownership and driving license ownership. From Shanghai to Tibet, G318 traverses eight provinces, municipalities and autonomous regions in eastern and western China, traveling against the surging Yangtze River and winding its way up the three steps of China's terrain. From the sea level to the top of the world, the most dense scenery in China is connected, including the Chinese civilization of five thousand years; From the ancient Tea Horse Road to the Sichuan-Tibet Highway, from the site of the Grand Convention to the No.1 Project of the Republic of China, it was built with the strength of the state and was born to meet the needs of the people. It embodies the development of New China in the past hundred years and symbolizes the spirit of the Chinese nation of "advancing all the way and persevering in spite of reverses".
