On February 22, Tongcheng Travel announced the launch of the "Thousand Villages Plan" in Suzhou. In the context of comprehensively promoting the rural revitalization strategy, the plan aims to help more villages build a tourism model suitable for their own sustainable development with the development concept of "thousands of villages with thousands of faces" and from multiple dimensions such as talent, technology, flow and capital. At the launch meeting, Tongcheng Travel put forward the long-term goal of "Ten hundred thousand Project", which will cultivate one hundred thousand new rural travelers, create one hundred benchmark rural tourism projects, and drive hundreds of billions of rural tourism output value.

At the launch ceremony, Wei Xiao 'an, the chief expert of the World Tourism Cities Federation, delivered a keynote speech entitled "The Trend of the integration of urban and rural leisure in the New Rural Tourism", giving full affirmation to the "One thousand villages Plan". He said that with the upgrading and improvement of infrastructure and service elements, some villages in the eastern region have the conditions to carry out horizontal division of labor with cities, and the integration of urban and rural leisure has become an inevitable requirement. Tongcheng Travel explores the path of the integration of agriculture, culture and tourism, adheres to co-existence, co-creation and all-win, realizes the sharing of urban and rural life, and creates a new model of the integration of urban and rural leisure.
