With massive sculptures featuring mythical human faces standing on the two sides of a river, the Yelang Valley, located in Guizhou Province, has been dubbed a Chinese version of the famous Easter Island. The human-shaped stone statues here are made of old pottery, tiles, stones, and other waste materials by a local artist. The exaggerated expressions of these faces are inspired by the masks of Guizhou Nuo Opera.
