Formed by geological movements and soil erosion, the earth forest in Yuanmou County, Yunnan Province, stands desolately and silently, like sharp blades, mazes or castles. The county is where the Yuanmou ape-man once lived. The Yuanmou ape-man is the earliest human ever to have been found in China, dating back to around 1.7 million years ago.
