People of the Miao ethnic group celebrated the Canoe Dragon Boat Festival with great joy in Shidong Town, Taijiang County of Guizhou Province on Wednesday. The unique single-log dragon boats competed on the Qingshui River, attracting numerous domestic and foreign tourists who came here for the event.

The Canoe Dragon Boat Festival is an ancient tradition for the Miao ethnic group that has been passed down over the generations in Shibi County's Qingshui River Basin and Taijiang River Basin. It was listed as a national intangible cultural heritage in 2008.
