Shennongjia, the only administrative unit named after a forestry district in China, has been listed as a UNESCO’s Man and Biosphere Reserve、Global Geopark and World Heritage Site. Shennongding
Shennongding is a typical representative of Shennongjia eco-tourism area. It has towering peaks, towering trees and emerald forests. It preserves the most complete virgin forest ecosystem in the middle latitude area and the most complete geological planation surface of the late Precambrian in the world. Karst valley landform and ancient glacier erosion relics are all over the mountains.
The shennongding peak, 3106.2 meters above sea level, is the first peak in Central China. The top of the mountain is misty all the year round, and the stone forest is towering and well-organized.
Dajiuhu in Shennongjia
The streams on the mountain form nine lakes from the top to the bottom. It is a rare mid latitude alpine wetland in the world and has the reputation of "Alpine basin" and "natural grassland". You would never have thought that there would be such a gentle landscape between mountains and valleys.
The Dajiuhu in Shennongjia is also known as the kidney of the earth. Director Hou Xiaoxian's movie The Assassin was filmed here. Sea of Clouds in Shennongjia

Shennongjia Banbiyan Stone Forest
Banbiyan is 2610 meters above sea level and 5 kilometers away from the watchtower in the East. It is known as "the haunt of savages".

Shennongjia Tianshengqiao
Tianshengqiao is a leisure, adventure and hunting tourist area characterized by strange caves, bridges, waterfalls and ponds. After hundreds of millions of years of water erosion, a natural hole was formed, and the mountain spring went down through the hole, so called "Tianshengqiao". Here, the charming waterfalls, the marvelous natural stone bridge, the fragrant orchid mountain, the precipitous and concise stone plank road constitute a gorgeous landscape painting.

Transportation Guide: Highway is the major transportation method in Shennongjia forestry district. 209 national highway and many provincial roads run through the territory. There are buses entering Shennongjia in Fangxian, Xiangfan, Yichang and Wuhan. There are buses from Muyu town and Songbai town to Yichang and Wuhan. The buses from Muyu town and Songbai town will pass through the scenic spots before 7:30 in the morning. If you miss the bus, you can also rent a minibus. There are also many electric tricycles in the area.
