"Post Covid-19, we need to discuss the challenges and opportunities to find the best way to restore and revitalize tourism." Mr. Dominique de Villepin, Chairman of IMTA and former Prime Minister of France, expressed his concern over the recovery of global tourism and the development of international mountain tourism in a special context through a video message. He called on the tourism industry to face up to the reality that it has been hit hard and to work together to promote prosperity. He made suggestions on highlighting regional and mountain advantages, creating tourism trust, protecting the environment, improving service quality, revitalizing local culture, adjusting supply structure and launching products that meet the needs of the post-epidemic market.
"In the new era, international tourism organizations shoulder important historical responsibilities and are an essential force for the recovery and reshaping of global tourism. International tourism organizations should aim to promote the common development of international tourism and at the same time promote their own development in the grand pattern of common development of international tourism." From a global perspective, Shao Qiwei, Vice Chairman of IMTA, said that international organizations are an important force in tourism governance, and should make good plans from the top design, contribute intellectual support and play a leading role in the recovery and reshaping of global tourism governance. On the one hand, international organizations should mobilize industry resources, support innovation and scientific and technological empowerment, foster cooperation models among market players in the tourism industry, and engender greater vitality in the tourism industry. On the other hand, we should give full play to our positioning advantages, fully mobilize and leverage the role of the industry and the private sector, actively promote public-private cooperation, and jointly formulate guidelines for tourism recovery against the background of the epidemic. In addition, from the perspective of post-epidemic supply and demand changes, Shao Qiwei proposed to develop innovative and leading new products and establish a communication and coordination mechanism for tourism links. He also said that in the future, the International Mountain Tourism Alliance will play a role in these three aspects and make more contributions.
